AnthroSketchExchange: Sketching in Conservation 2009
In 2008 anthrosketchxch
together with support from some of the furry art community banded together and participated to help us raise money for Amphibian conservation. This year, we're repeating the project. In 2009 AnthroSketchXch will be sketching in conservation to help raise money for the Sea World and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. For more than 40 years, the Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks have initiated and supported wildlife conservation, research and education efforts at home and around the world. With the introduction of this new private foundation fund, they hope these efforts will rise to unprecedented levels.
Participants in this year's conservation round are being asked to donate a minimum of $5 to the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. However, we ask that anyone who see this and can help also send a donation as well. $5 might not seem like much, but when you have 50 people or more donating.. it starts to add up.
A critical part of the Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks' environmental commitment is the SeaWorld/Busch Gardens Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Program. Through this program, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens devote around-the-clock, behind-the-scenes and across-the-globe resources and technology to rescue, treat, shelter and release many species of stranded, sick and injured animals. The Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks rescue, rehabilitate and release more animals than any other organization in the world. Since 1970, the parks have rescued more than 13,000 animals, including several endangered and threatened species - that averages out to about one animal rescue every day for the past 34 years. The main objective of the Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Program is to return rehabilitated animals to the wild. If you are a member of the community, you can find the sign-up post here- http://community.livejournal.com/anthrosketchxch/316364.html
If you are not currently a member but would like to apply to become one, please do so here- http://community.livejournal.com/anthrosketchxch/510.html
You can read more about our SeaWorld and Busch Gardens: Sketching in Conservation project here- http://community.livejournal.com/anthrosketchxch/315175.html
Even if you don't sign-up, please donate to our selected conservation group! Their donation page is here- https://www.swbg-conservationfund.org/Scripts/MakeDonation.aspx
(if you're a paypal only type person, we're asking those people to make donations to the Cheetah Conservation Fund here- http://www.cheetah.org/?nd=donate )
PLEASE PLEASE Be sure to show this to your friends and post it on your journals and galleries!!!! Feel free to hotlink the banner as well!! The more people we can make aware of this situation and the more money we can raise to help these creatures the better!

Monthly Random Character Art Exchange
This exchange has been running for close to two years now, but we could do with a few more participants, so the regulars don't get bored. ^^°
In contrast to most exchanges, you don't submit one description, but a link to a website (or LJ entry, or whatever) with multiple character references, and the artist will pick who they'll draw. The signup for the January round is open already, also to give people who want to join to get profiles up.Community info/rulesSignup for January

Monthly Random Character Art Exchange
The exchange has been going for a while now, and while there are regulars making the rounds not too small, new participants would be nice.

CON BADGE TRADES!
So hey guys. Do you like drawing - but just don't have much time for a full piece, or like drawing little pictures ... like convention badges? Are you concerned with quality?
We're starting up the "secret santa" style monthly exchange on con_badges
, but this time, the participants are moderated. This means that you are not allowed to participate until a small panel approves you based on the quality and skill of your art.

ART CARDS !
Just flying by to announce the opening of a new community,
"Furry ACEO Trade"
Q: What is the community about?
A: It's about artists making and trading ACEO (artcards) with each other
Q: What is an ACEO?
A: ACEO stands for "Art Cards Editions and Originals". They are tiny works of art 2.5 by 3.5 inch size , (the size of a trading card), created in various mediums. In this particular group most artcards would be Originals since they are original pieces made for a specific person and purpose.
Example of an artcard
Current Mood: cheerful
Q: Why should I join?
A: Because Art Cards are amazingly fun to make and even more fun to collect. Nothing beats the satisfaction of collecting minature art from your talented fellow artists all over the world. Slip them into collectible card sleves and make your own mini gallery! And artcards are so tiny, you can work on creating yours almost anywhere!
See you at Furry ACEO Trade!
